The SAE observatory consists of ground magnetometers from SAMBA, RAM network (Russia), UAPM (Japan), South Africa, Geoscience Australia, and BAS (Bristish Antarctic Survey) ground magnetometer stations and arrays. Availability of the SAE index may vary from day to day depending upon magnetometer data availabiliy. SAE indices were only produced when data from all stations were available.
