<Description>ROCSAT-1 is Taiwan's first experimental scientific satellite. It was launched from Cape Canaveral on January 27, 1999 by an Athena 1 into a circular orbit at 600 km altitude and 35 degree orbit inclination. The nodal precession makes the spacecraft drift around the Earth every 52 days. The payload included three instruments: the Ocean Color Imager (OCI), the Experimental Communication Payload (ECP) and the Ionospheric Plasma and Electrodynamics Instrument (IPEI). The ROCSAT-1 mission officially ended on June 16, 2004. The OCI homepage is at http://www.oci.ntou.edu.tw/ and the IPEI homepage at http://csrsddc.csrsr.ncu.edu.tw/
